You’ve probably seen these nice pots and pans with “D&W” labels on on TikTok or at TJMaxx or Marshall’s stores. It’s Deane and White cookware – a brand that specializes in manufacturing high-quality aluminum and ceramic cookware:

In this review, I’m going to break down the pros and cons of Deane and White pots and pans, answer the frequently asked questions, and reveal what the actual owners of D&W cookware say about the brand.

The company’s most recognizable product is the D&W frying pan. It comes in different sizes, varying from 7.8 inches to 11 inches. More on it later in the detailed review.

If you’re into Asian cuisine, Deane and White can offer wok pans of great quality! Just look at them:

D&W casseroles (or just pots) are another cookware item from Deane and White that their customers love. The materials used in D&W cookware are high-quality, so it’s no wonder D&W pots can keep food warm for several hours. They normally come with lids that are actually pretty sturdy.

D&W 11″ Frying Pan Review

As I’ve said, D&W’s signature product is their frying pan, which deserves a more detailed review.

Let’s start with the advantages and what real owners of the product share on forums and social media:

D&W 11″ frying pan is built from high-quality die-cast aluminum which makes it durable for long use at high temperatures.

There are even reports that it’s been exposed to gas flame for four hours straight and it ended up totally fine!

Recently, I left for work at 5pm,buthad put aDeane and White frying panon the stove, under afull gas flamefor… four hours! I accidentally forgot to turn it off because I was late and in a rush.

I came home at 9pm, and was shocked and horrified thatour house could have burned down.

But, the 14″ Deane and White Frying Pan was still there. It did not crack. The house wasnotfilled with smoke. It only took boiling a little vinegar on the stove to get rid of any kind of smell in the kitchen. And only a slight scrubbing to make the pan look good as new.

And if you don’t plan on burning down your house, it’s beneficial to know that when used properly, the D&W frying pan heats up quickly and cooks evenly.

The non-stick feature in Deane and White frying pans works perfectly, so very little oil is needed, making your food much healthier. The coating is also pretty durable and serves longer than in many other non-stick pan brands.

Sometimes, the pan comes in ceramic versions with different colors and designs. I’ve counted five different versions so far: white ceramic, white aluminum, black aluminum, dark gray aluminum, and an Always pan dupe design:

Is Deane and White Cookware Toxic?

The short answer is no, Deane and White cookware is not toxic.

Deane and White cookware can be either aluminum with ceramic coating or completely ceramic. Either option isn’t harmful to your health unless you scratched your pan or pot a lot and your food is exposed to bare aluminum like in the picture below:

If your cookware looks anything like in the image above, you shouldn’t be using it for cooking food anymore.

Is Deane and White Cookware Oven Safe?

According to the label I’ve found on my pan, Deane and White cookware is NOT oven-safe. And if you think about it, it’s obvious because the handles are made of bakelite, a material that normally can’t resist the heat and can’t go into an oven that heats over 350 degrees.

Are D&W Pans Dishwasher Safe?

Yes, Deane and White cookware is totally dishwasher safe.

However, if you want it to serve for longer, I recommend handwashing it with mild non-abrasive cleaner. That way the non-stick coating will remain intact longer.

Who Makes Deane and White Cookware?

According to the Dean and White official website, their cookware is made by a Chinese manufacturer in partnership with and under supervision of the large retail store chain that supplies goods to TJMaxx, Marshall’s, HomeGoods, etc.

And it makes sense because you rarely can find this cookware elsewhere, which leads us to the next question:

Where to Buy Deane and White Cookware

Currently, you can buy Deane and White cookware at retail stores that belong to TJX Companies. The list includes TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Homegoods, Homesense, and Sierra.

Alternatively, you can check out eBay or similar marketplaces where people resell the cookware.

The cookware is currently not available at Amazon, but I recommend checking out the cookware of a very similar and equally high-quality brand here.

Alternative Brands of Equal or Superior Quality

Deane and White is not the only game in town. There are other great cookware brands of equal or even higher quality with similar or better design.

And they could also be cheaper if you catch a good deal!

JeeTee is another nice cookware brand. It’s obviously manufactured in China, but so are the most of other cheaper brands. It doesn’t take anything from the fact that the cookware itself is of high quality.
